Vehicle Fire on Centercrest Lane
3/21/2008 – At 23:02 Engine 701 was dispatched to the area of 7300 Centercrest Lane for a reported vehicle fire. On scene 701 found an engine compartment fire and extinguished it without incident.
MVA on Camp Ernst Road
3/20/2008 – At 07:33 Engine 701 and Squad 714 were dispatched to the area of Camp Ernst Road and Bluegrama Drive for a reported vehicle accident with injuries. Units arrived to find no injuries.
MVA on Burlington Pike
3/9/2008 – At 01:15 Engine 701 and Squad 714 were dispatched to the intersection of Burlington Pike and Centennial Circle for a reported vehicle accident with injuries. This accident happened at the height of a winter blizzard. The storm dumped 14 to 16 inches of snow in the area over a 2 day period. 2 people were transported to an area hospital with minor injuries.
Kitchen Fire on Camp Ernst Road
3/4/2008 – At 17:44 units were alerted to a possible structure fire in the 8100 block of Camp Ernst Road . Units were updated while enroute that the stove was on fire in the home and that one person was still inside attempting to put on the fire. On scene Car 725 find a single story SFD with light smoke showing, however the fire was out. 725 held 701 and 714 to ventilate the structure.
Structure Fire on Idlewild Road
2/25/2008 – At 13:14 units were alerts for a possible structure fire in the area of the 3600 block of Idlewild Road . Hebron Engine 352 had started in the direction of the call at the request of Engine 701 and advised they could see a large plume of heavy black smoke in the area of the call. On scene Car 726 requested a 2 nd alarm for a fully involved barn approximately 50 feet from a residence. A 2 ½” attack line was deployed on the fire and a crew was sent inside the house to check for fire extension, as several windows had already cracked and numerous flower pots on the back of the house were on fire. The fire was quickly brought under control, with no extension to the home.
MVA on North Bend Road
2/22/2008 – At 11:54 Engine 701 and Squad 714 were dispatched to the area of North Bend Road in front of the Burlington Pharmacy for a possible injury accident. On scene Car 726 advised that the persons involved were reporting no injuries. The EMS crew checked the persons involved and the fire crew checked for leaking fluids or other hazards.
Structure Fire on Howe Road
2/19/2008 – At 08:56 the Burlington , Belleview/McVille and Union Fire Departments were alerted to a structure fire in the 8100 block of Howe Road by PSCC. Enroute units observed heavy smoke in the area of the reported incident and on scene they found a 100+ year old barn fully involved in fire. The mutual aid units were made available and Burlington personnel knocked the heavy fire down and overhauled the structure.
Structure Fire in Hebron on Elijah Creek Road
2/14/2008 – At 03:28 Engine 701 was dispatched along with units from the Hebron Fire Department for a structure fire in the 1900 block of Elijah Creek Road . On scene 701 assisted with extinguishment and overhaul of the structure. Photos courtesy of Hebron FD.
MVA on Camp Ernst Road
2/12/2008 – At 08:30 an extrication response was dispatched by PSCC, they were reporting a rollover accident with injuries in the 6900 block of Camp Ernst Road . On scene units found a single vehicle on its top and another vehicle sitting in the middle of the roadway with front end damage. A single person was injured and transported to an area hospital.
Structure Fire in Hebron on Pioneer Blvd.
2/9/2008 – At 09:52 Engine 701 was dispatched along with units from the Hebron Fire Department to a reported structure fire in the 1800 block of Pioneer Blvd. Engine 701 arrived first to find a single family dwelling with smoke showing from the attic and garage area of the home. The crew from 701 extinguished the fire and assisted Hebron personnel where needed, until cleared from the scene by Command.
Structure Fire on Burlington Pike
2/5/2008 – At 17:53 units were alerted to a possible structure fire with an explosion in the area of Burlington Pike and Limaburg Creek Road on the Vesper Farm. Once in the area personnel identified an unknown type structure well involved in fire on the farm. Using the apparatus mounted MDC’s and BooneMap personnel were able to pen point the location of the building structure and determine that access to it would be impossible. The structure was located 1,500’ from Burlington Pike and was only accessible from a vehicle path (mud) that was 5,000’ in length. The FD determined that the structure may have been struck by lightning, as an electrical storm was rolling though the area at the time of the fire.
MVA on Rogers Lane
1/29/2008 – At 15:19 while returning from the other accident Car 726 pulled up on a vehicle off the roadway into the trees on Rogers Lane and Monarch Drive . Upon checking the person involved he advised that he had hurt his hand, 726 requested that a squad be dispatched.
MVA on Rogers Lane
1/29/2008 – At 15:03 Engine 701 and Squad 714 were dispatched to Rogers Lane and Hanover Blvd. for a reported vehicle accident with injuries. Enroute PSCC advised the squad they could cancel, however the engine needed to continue to check a light pole that had been knocked over.
MVA on Conrad Lane
1/28/2008 – At 09:24 Engine 701 and Squad 715 were dispatched to the area of Conrad Lane near Carry Back Drive for a reported vehicle accident with injuries. While enroute Car 726 was advised that the location of the accident was near Conrad Lane and Elkwood Drive in the Hebron Fire Protection District. 726 advised that the Burlington units would continue and Hebron could respond if they wanted to. Hebron advised they would stand-by since we were already enroute. On scene 726 reported a single vehicle accident with one person injured.
MVA on Camp Ernst Road
1/27/2008 – At 23:06 Engine 701 and Squad 714 were dispatched to the area of Camp Ernst Road and Camp Ernst Lane for a reported vehicle accident with injuries. On scene the person was checked for injuries and refused transport to the hospital. 701 remained on scene to clean up debris and keep the roadway closed until a salt truck could arrive to treat the road.
Carbon Monoxide Sickens 9 on Production Drive
1/16/2008 – At 12:11 we received a phone call at the station regarding a strange odor in a business at 1400 Production Drive . Upon arrival at the business Engine 701 observed several individuals laying on the ground outside of the business and several more inside the building sitting at a lunch table. The building was immediately evacuated and 701 required 2 squads. The incident required the transport of 9 employee’s to the hospital for high CO levels and 4 additional people were checked and they refused transport. The cause of the high CO was found to be a faulty folklift.
Water Leak on Sterling Trace
1/6/2008 – At 16:43 Engine 701 was dispatched to the 2600 block of Sterling Trace for a reported water leak. On scene 701’s crew met with the homeowner who had been out of the country for several weeks, he returned home to find an upstairs line had broken and flooded the home. FD personnel assisted the homeowner as much as possible and returned to service.
Chief’s Retirement Dinner
1/4/2008 - After decades of serving the Burlington Fire Protection District, Chief Ernie Biddle says he's looking forward to retirement.
Chief Biddle joined the fire department on Feb. 27, 1967 , as a volunteer. He's been chief since May 1986. He said he has a place in Florida and will go there during the cold weather months. He said when the weather gets warm, he'll return home and decide what he wants to do in retirement.
Chief Biddle was presented with several gifts from Boone County , the Florence Fire/EMS Department, the Burlington Fire Department Boosters, and IAFF Local 4521.
Approximately 250 people attended the dinner.
Water Leak on Taylor Drive
1/3/2008 – At 22:04 Engine 701 and Ladder 710 were dispatched to 6084 Taylor Drive for a reported fire alarm sounding in the building. Upon arrival 701 found that a sprinkler line had broken in a 3 rd floor vacant apartment. Substantial damage was done to the 3 rd floor, 2 nd floor and 1 st floor apartments. The 1 st floor apartment was the only one occupied.
Structure Fire on Rabbit Hash Road in Belleview/McVille
12/23/2007 – At 18:47 Engine 701 was dispatched along with multiple units from Belleview/McVille, Union and Petersburg to a reported structure fire in the area of 5572 Rabbit Hash Road . A caller was reporting a house fully involved in the area. Engine 1151 from Belleview/McVille arrived and confirmed a fully involved structure fire. 701 assisted with extinguishment and overhaul.

12/20/2007 – At 18:45 Engine 701, 702 and Squad 714 were dispatched to the area of Burlington Pike and North Bend Road for a reported vehicle accident with injuries. Squad 715 was also dispatched after the initial dispatch, an officer on scene was reporting multiple injuries.
Structure Fire on Kingsgate Drive
12/19/2007 – At 17:20 units were alerted to a possible structure fire at 6125 Kingsgate Drive , the caller was reporting the upstairs filling with smoke. On scene units found medium smoke showing from the second floor of a single family dwelling. The fire was found in an upstairs bedroom and confined to that room.

12/11/2007 – At 09:33 Engine 701 and Squad responded to the area of Burlington Pike and Camp Ernst Road for a reported vehicle accident with injuries. On scene crews found 1 person injured and they were transported to an area hospital without incident. Remember to wear your safety vest; it’s for your safety!

12/8/2007 – At 20:03 Engine 701 and Squad 714 were dispatched to the area of Idlewild Road and Akin Lane for a reported vehicle accident with injuries. On scene they found no entrapment and 2 people injured, they requested an additional squad.
MVA on Burlington Pike
12/6/2007 – At 15:45 Engine 701 and Squad 714 were dispatched to the area of 5000 Burlington Pike for a reported vehicle accident with possible injuries. On scene personnel found a single vehicle accident with one person injured.
Extrication MVA on Limaburg Road
12/4/2007 – At 13:33 Engine 701, 702 and Squad 715 were dispatched to the area of Limaburg Road near the Hayfield Park Apartment Complex for a reported single vehicle accident with extrication. On scene Car 726 confirmed an entrapment and requested that Aircare from UC be flown at the request of the medic from 715. Extrication took about 15 minutes and the patient was transferred to Aircare with non-life threatening injuries.

Chief Jeff Barlow was presented with a helmet from the Burlington Fire Department Boosters and IAFF Local 4521. Chief Barlow is taking over for retiring Chief David E. Biddle who has served the department for more than 41 years.
Retirement Luncheon for Wilma Biddle
11/30/2007 – A retirement luncheon was held for Wilma Biddle today. Wilma has served as the department’s Administrative Assistant for the last 16 years and officially retired from the department on Friday, November 30 th. Wilma good luck with your retirement and don’t get too much of a tan in Florida.

11/21/2007 – At 13:01 Engine 701 and Squad 714 were dispatched to the area of Conrad Lane and Carry Back Drive for a reported vehicle accident with injuries. On scene units found a 2-vehicle accident with 2 people injured. Hebron Rescue 374 and Squad 364 also responded to and assisted with this accident.

11/16/2007 – At 15:39 Engine 701 and Squad 714 were dispatched to the area Burlington Pike and Centennial Circle for a reported vehicle accident with injuries. Units arrived to find a 2-vehicle accident with one minor injury.

11/11/2007 – At 22:44 Engine 701 and Squad 714 were dispatched to the area of Rogers Lane near the Hanover Park subdivision for a reported single vehicle accident with injuries. On scene units found a single vehicle on its side, with 1 person injured.

11/11/2007 – At 20:14 Engine 701 was dispatched to 3633 Burlington Pike for a reported vehicle accident with fuel leaking from 1 of the vehicles. On scene 701 found a 3-vehicle accident with no fuel leaking and returned to service.
Structure Fire Call on Green Arbor Court
11/11/2007 – At 11:38 units were alerted to a possible structure fire at 2501 Green Arbor Court , a neighbor was reporting a wood pile on fire outside the residence, up against the house. Personnel arrived and confirmed the fire, however the side of the house was brick and the assignment was held to 1 engine, the squad and Chief.
Lightning Strike on Collier Lane
11/5/2007 – At 11:36 while a odd fall thunderstorm was rolling through the area units were dispatched to a reported lightning strike at 3044 Collier Lane in the Hanover Park subdivision. On scene Car 726 reported a 2-story SFD with nothing showing with an obvious lightning strike to the front of the structure. Personnel investigated and did not find any fire, however the lightning had entered at the peak and exited through the master bedroom ceiling.

11/2/2007 – At 15:55 Engine 701 and Squad 714 were dispatched to the area of Burlington Pike and Woolper Road for a reported vehicle accident with injuries. On scene units found a 2 vehicle accident with 1 person injured.
MVA on Rogers Lane
11/2/2007 – At 07:18 Engine 701 and Squad were dispatched to Rogers Lane in the area of Onavey Way for a reported accident involving a school bus and a passenger car. On scene units found a passenger vehicle with heavy front end damage and mild damage the school bus. After checking all involved, 4 people were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

11/1/2007 – At 09:18 Engine 701 and Squad 714 were dispatched to the area of Burlington Pike and Burgundy Hill Drive for a reported 4 vehicle accident with injuries. An additional squad was dispatched by PSCC while the units were enroute for multiple patients. On scene District personnel found 3 injuries and they were all transported to an area hospital.

10/26/2007 – At 12:43 Engine 701 and Squad 714 were dispatched to the area of Burlington Pike and Vice Lane for a reported vehicle accident with injuries. On scene personnel found a single vehicle accident and a single patient suffering from a diabetic problem. As you can tell from the photos, the driver’s was very lucky that the fence did not penetrate the passenger compartment.

10/23/2007 – At 07:08 units were alerted to a vehicle accident with injuries and extrication at the intersection of Burlington Pike and Kingsgate Drive . A total of 3 people were transported to the hospital from this accident.
RV Fire on Lower River Road
10/4/2007 – At 12:00 Engine 701, Tanker 721 and Squad 714 responded along with the Belleview/McVille Fire Department to a reported structure fire. On scene Car 1175 from Belleview reported he had an RV fully involved in fire. Burlington units continued to the scene and assisted as needed.
Vehicle Fire on Bullittsville Road
10/3/2007 – At 19:55 Engine 701 was dispatched to 4437 Bullittsville Road for a reported vehicle fire. On scene 701 found a fire in the dashboard area of the vehicle and extinguished it.
Brush Fire on Bullittsville Road
10/2/2007 – At 14:47 units were dispatched to the area of 3768 Bullittsville Road for a reported brush fire. On scene units found an approximate 1 acre area of field on fire. The fire was caused by a fire that was left unattended by the homeowner.
Kitchen Fire on Ethan Drive
10/1/2007 – At 16:28 units were again notified of a possible structure fire at 5977 Ethan Drive . A neighbor was reporting the house next door on fire and it was unknown if it was occupied. Units arrived to find a medium smoke condition from the house. After checking the home (that was occupied) personnel found that the homeowner had been cooking and caught the kitchen on fire. The area of the kitchen was overhauled and the home was cleared of smoke. Remember, if you have a fire in your home, call the fire department first and evacuate the home. Do not try and fight the with a fire extinguisher before calling the fire department, it does not take long for a fire to grow.
Oven Fire on East Bend Road
10/1/2007 – At 09:33 units were alerted by PSCC of a possible structure fire at 6331 East Bend Road . The caller was reporting an oven fire and the home filling with smoke. On scene personnel found a small fire in the oven with a large amount of smoke in the home. The fire was extinguished and the home ventilated.
Vehicle Fire on Akin Lane
9/28/2007 – At 07:12 PSCC alerted units of a possible structure fire at the end of Akin Lane . The caller was reporting a large fire in the area and he was not sure what was burning. While enroute units were updated that it was a vehicle and not a structure. On scene 701 found a fully involved vehicle sitting in the middle of the roadway at the dead end of Akin Lane , additional units were cancelled and 701 extinguished the fire.
Brush Fire in Hebron on I-275
9/24/2007 – At 13:28 Brush Truck 717 and Tanker 721 responded to I-275 in the area of mile marker 12 to assist Hebron with a large brush fire. 717 assisted with extinguishing the fire and 721 provided firefighting water to units on scene, the interstate is not covered with fire hydrants.
Structure Fire on Berwood Lane in Hebron
9/23/2007 – At 01:07 Engine 701 responded with Hebron units for a reported structure fire at 2640 Berwood Lane in Hebron . The caller was reporting the rear deck on fire. Engine 351 from Hebron arrived to find the rear porch fully involved, as well as the kitchen and attic area of the home. 701 assisted with extinguishment and overhaul before returning to service.
Brush Fire on Hathaway Road in Union
9/21/2007 – At 16:11 as personnel were still cleaning up from the previous fire on Camp Ernst Road , Union requested Brush Truck 717 to respond with them for a brush fire at 2788 Hathaway Road . They had an approximate 3 to 5 acres of corn field burning and needed as much as possible for extinguishment. 717 was on scene for several hours and assisted with extinguishment and overhaul. The Northern Kentucky region is 13 inches below normal for rainfall and we have not received a rainfall of 1 inch or more since the first week of March.
Brush Fire on Camp Ernst Road
9/21/2007 – At 14:50 PSCC dispatched Brush Truck 717 for a reported brush fire under the porch at 8037 Camp Ernst Road . Approximately 30 seconds later PSCC upgraded the call to a structure fire and dispatched the appropriate units. While enroute units observed a large volume of smoke in the area of the incident address and on scene Car 726 found an approximate 1 to 1 ½ acre field on fire that was moving fast in all directions. The fire was extinguished without incident and 1 person was transported to the hospital for shortness of breath and chest pains. Several items on the front porch did caught on fire, however the structure never became involved in fire.

9/18/2007 – At 14:23 Engine 701 and Squad 715 were dispatched to the area of 5660 Limaburg Road for a reported vehicle accident with possible injuries. On scene units found a vehicle had struck a utility pole, the occupants did not want to go to the hospital and the phone company was notified to replace the pole.
MVA on East Bend Road
9/17/2007 – At 23:18 Engine 701 and Squad 714 were dispatched to the area of 8089 East Bend Road for a reported vehicle accident with injuries. The caller was reporting a vehicle on its side in her front yard. While enroute units were advised that two people were still inside the vehicle, however they were uninjured.
Structure Fire on Beech Grove Road in Belleview/McVille
9/12/2007 – At 17:41 Engine 701 and Tanker 721 were dispatched to 9449 Beech Grove Road for a reported structure fire. The caller was reporting a fire inside the home and at least one person needed to be checked for smoke inhalation. 701 assisted with smoke removal and returned to service.
Deck Fire on Majestic Prince Drive
9/7/2007 – At 22:23 units were alerted for a possible structure fire at 2479 Majestic Prince Drive , the caller was a neighbor reporting the rear deck on fire. On scene personnel found that a Boone County Sheriffs Department officer had already knocked the fire down with a fire extinguisher. Personnel overhauled to area and returned to service.

9/6/2007 – At 16:42 Engine 701 and Squad 714 were dispatched to the area of Burlington Pike between Carlton Drive and Kingsgate Drive for a reported vehicle accident with injuries. 714 arrived to find a vehicle had left the roadway for an unknown reason and one person was injured.
Brush Fire on Howlett Lane in Union
9/6/2007 – At 14:23 Engine 701 responded at the request of Union Command for a large brush fire on Howlett Lane that resulted from a piece of construction equipment catching on fire. 701 assisted Union with extinguishment and returned to service.

8/31/2007 – At 06:28 Engine 701 and Squad 714 were dispatched to the area of Burlington Pike and Centennial Circle for a reported vehicle accident with injuries. On scene units found a three-vehicle accident with one person injured.
MVA on Camp Ernst Road with Aircare
8/29/2007 – At 07:05 Engine 701 and Squad 714 were dispatched to the area of 6515 Camp Ernst Road ( Camp Ernst Middle School ) for a reported vehicle accident with injuries. 714 arrived to find a two-vehicle accident with one subject trapped and an additional person injured. Aircare was also requested.
Brush Fire on North Orient Street
8/24/2007 – At 18:02 Brush Truck 717 was dispatched to the area of 5948 North Orient Street for a reported brush fire burning in a wooded area. Car 726 arrived to find an approximately 20 by 20 foot area burning, Engine 701 responded along 717 and was used to extinguish the fire.
Possible Structure Fire on Temperate Street
8/24/2007 – At 17:58 units were alerted to a possible structure fire at 2948 Temperate Street . A passerby was reporting a chair on fire on the front porch, spreading to the home. Car 726 arrived to find the chair had been removed from the front porch, however now the front yard was on fire. Minor damage was done to the home and the fire was extinguished without incident.
Structure Fire on Ironwood Way
8/12/2007 – At 16:39 units were again alerted for a possible structure fire at 7383 Ironwood Way , a passerby was reporting the back of the house on fire. On scene 701 found that the owner had the fire extinguished and returned all other companies. This fire was caused by a cigarette that had been dropped into a flower pot that caught on fire and burned the back corner of the house.
Recreational Vehicle & Field Fire on East Bend Road
8/12/2007 – At 12:44 units were alerted to a possible structure fire in the area of 7570 East Bend Road . While enroute Car 725 and other units observed a large plum of black smoke showing in the area. On scene a recreational vehicle was found burning in a field, with the field also burning. Some 700 feet of hose lines were deployed to extinguish the fire. A campfire from the night before, which was not properly extinguished, is to blame for the fire.
MVA on Burlington Pike @ Centennial Circle
8/10/2007 – At 14:46 while the above incident was occurring, Engine 703 (Engine 702 was tried up with the landing zone) and Squad 715 were dispatched to the area of Burlington Pike and Centennial Circle for a vehicle accident with injuries. On scene 1 person was treated and transported to an area hospital for observation.
Aircare to the Firehouse
8/10/2007 – At 14:32 Engine 701 and Squad 714 were dispatched to 3033 Silverbrook Drive for a person passed out after a fall. On scene 701 requested University of Cincinnati Aircare to transport the patient and they were landed at the firehouse approximately 1 mile from the scene. The patient had slipped and fallen on concrete around a pool and then fall into the pool, unconscious.
Fingers Caught on Tanglewood Drive
8/9/2007 – At 15:22 Squad 714 was dispatched to the area of 1775 Tanglewood Drive in the Sky Harbor Apartments complex for a female with 8 fingers caught in her car door. Engine 701 responded along with 714 and arrived to find that a female had indeed got 8 of her fingers caught in a car door where she was cleaning the door jam and a gust of wind came along and closed the door. The fingers were caught between the front quarter panel and the front edge of the door and she was in extreme pain. Personnel used a haligan bar to remove her fingers from the door and she was transported to an area hospital for treatment.
MVA on Burlington Pike @ Limaburg Road
8/7/2007 – At 18:54 Engine 701 and Squad 714 were dispatched to the area of Burlington Pike and Limaburg Road for a reported vehicle accident with injuries. On scene 1 person was found to be injured and transported to an area hospital. This accident was a hit-and-run and the run vehicle was found disabled on Boone Aire Road approximately 1 mile from the scene.
Boone County Fair Week
8/6/2007 thru 8/11/2007 – Members of the fire department spent numerous hours providing coverage for both the first aid booth and all of the various motor sports that are put on at the Boone County Fairground this week. In all personnel treated some 15 people for various medical problems and extinguished numerous fires during the demolition derby events.

Touch-A-Truck at Idlewild/England Park
8/4/2007 – Each year the Boone County Parks Department sponsors an event for area child to come out and see various pieces of equipment up close that they would normally not get to view. Engine 701, Ladder 710 and Squad 714 were all on display during this event and members of the department give out nearly 450 fire helmets and other fire prevention supplies.
Unauthorized Burn on Akin Lane
8/1/2007 – At 22:39 units were dispatched to the area of Akin Lane for an unknown type fire burning in the area. The caller was reporting a “glow” in the sky. On scene Engine 701 found the occupant at 4059 Akin Lane burning an old mobile home on his property. Since this is a direct violation of the “No Burning” regulations, the fire was extinguished and the owner was fined by EMA.
MVA – Burlington Pike and North Bend Road
7/28/2007 – At 11:34 Engine 701 and Squad 714 responded to the area of Burlington Pike and North Bend Road for a reported vehicle accident with injuries. On scene they found 1 person injured and transported them to an area hospital. Personnel also cleaned up fluid on the roadway.
MVA on East Bend Road
7/26/2007 – At 23:13 Engine 701 and Squad 714 were dispatched to the area of 6447 East Bend Road for a possible injury accident. A caller was reporting a loud boom and seeing headlights pointing up in the trees. Upon arrival personnel found a pick-up truck on its side with no injuries.
Person Falls out of Moving Vehicle on East Bend Road
7/25/2007 – At 20:26 Engine 701 and Squad 714 were dispatched to the area of East Bend Road and King Oak Drive for a reported injury accident. Upon arrival personnel found a single patient that had fallen out of moving vehicle (approximately 70 MPH) with serious injuries. UC Aircare was requested and landed at the firehouse on Burlington Pike.
Vehicle into the Lake on Klotz Lane
7/25/2007 – At 8:11 Engine 701 and Squad 714 were dispatched to the area of 8033 Camp Ernst Road for a vehicle in the lake and at the time of dispatch we were advised it was occupied. Members from the Boone County Swift Water Rescue team also responded to this incident. The vehicle was located approximately 4 feet under the water and it was determined to be unoccupied, after FD personnel talked with the owner of the vehicle. Personnel stood-by and assisted the wrecker crews with removing the vehicle from the water.
MVA on Fawn Drive
7/23/2007 – At 17:12 Engine 701 and Squad 714 were dispatched to the area of 2888 Fawn Drive for a reported vehicle accident with injuries. Car 725 and Squad 714 arrived to found a vehicle had struck a tree several yards off the roadway. It was also discovered that the accident may have happened up to an hour before the call. UC Aircare was requested and transported to UC for observation.
MVA on Burlington Pike
7/17/2007 – At 10:24 Engine 701 and Squad 714 were dispatched to the area of Burlington Pike and Taylor Drive for a reported vehicle accident with injuries. On scene personnel found one person injured and they were transported to an area hospital for observation.
MVA on McVille Road in Belleview/McVille
7/9/2007 – At 10:55 Engine 701 and Squad 714 were dispatched to what was thought to be a dump truck accident in the area of 8033 McVille Road in Belleview/McVille. 714 arrived first to find a fire truck from the Belleview/McVille Fire Protection District on its side with the two occupants standing outside the vehicle, both were taken to the hospital for observation. The reason we are posting this story and pictures is to make sure that each citizen understands that when you see or hear an emergency vehicle approaching them you need to slow down and pull over to the right hand side of the roadway. This accident could have been avoided if an oncoming vehicle had yield the fire trucks right-of-way.
3rd Alarm Structure Fire on Sawmill Drive
7/7/2007 – At 02:36 PSCC began receiving numerous phone calls reporting a structure fire in the Darlington Farms Condo Complex in the area of 2316 Sawmill Drive and dispatched a structure fire assignment. Engine 701 upon calling enroute and based on information they had already received requested a 2nd Alarm. Upon arrival 701 was confronted with a 3-story condo building with heavy fire showing from a 3rd floor unit, the attic area and the exterior of the building on floors 1 and 2. People were also still exiting the building. One person was removed from the building by department personnel and one person was transported to the hospital for observation. The fire was knocked down in approximately 20 minutes and extensive overhaul took place for the next 4 hours. Click for dispatch audio of this incident.
MVA on Rogers Lane
7/4/2007 – At 17:44 Engine 701 and Squad 714 were dispatched to the area of 6089 Rogers Lane for a reported vehicle accident with injuries. Upon arrival units found a two-vehicle accident with one person injured. 701 stayed on scene and removed fluids once the vehicles were towed away.
Lightning Strike on Avalon Drive
7/4/2007 – At 16:54 units were dispatched to 3703 Avalon Drive for a reported possible lightning strike. Upon arrival and after checking the home for damage a hole was found on the roof and a burned electrical outlet was found inside a bedroom. The home was checked for fire with nothing found and the hole was covered with plastic.
Structure Fire on Utz Lane
7/2/2007 – At 13:41 PSCC alerted units for a possible structure fire at 6788 Utz Lane , a caller was reporting smoke coming from the rear of the house. Squad 714 arrived first and found light smoke showing from the porch area of the home. Neighbors were using fire extinguishers to extinguish a fire on the porch. 701 and 710 further checked the residence and ventilated the home of smoke. Minor damage was done to the rear door where the fire had spread into the door casing and wall.
