6/29/2011 – At 16:29 Engine 701 and Squad 714 responded to Burlington Pike and Old Florence Pike for a reported vehicle accident with injuries. On scene they found no injuries and assisted with general clean-up.

 

MVA on East Bend Road

6/25/2011 – At 23:41 Engine 701 and Squad 714 were dispatched to the area of East Bend Road and Howe Road for a reported vehicle accident with injuries. On scene personnel confirmed a single vehicle accident with minor injuries.

 

MVA on Rogers Lane

6/18/2011 – At 15:09 Engine 701 and Squad 714 responded to the 6200 block of Rogers Lane for a reported vehicle accident with injuries. On scene personnel found a vehicle well off the roadway with one injury.

 

Wires Down on Burlington Pike

6/13/2011 – At 14:43 Engine 701 was dispatched to the area of Burlington Pike and North Bend Road for a report of wires down across the roadway, Car 726 also responded to this incident, diverting 701 to a fire alarm from the power outage. Personnel confirmed wires down with a small grass fire. Insight, Duke and Cincinnati Bell were all notified to respond. The roadway was blocked for about 2 hours.

 

MVA on Burlington Pike

6/10/2011 – At 10:02 Engine 701 and Squad 714 were dispatched to the intersection of Burlington Pike and Oakbrook Drive for a reported vehicle accident with injuries. Upon arrival 718 confirmed a 2-vehicle accident with one person injured.

 

MVA with Extrication on Burlington Pike

6/10/2011 – At 05:21 Engine 701 and Squad 714 were dispatched to the intersection of Burlington Pike and Camp Ernst Road for a reported vehicle accident with injuries. Upon arrival 701 reported a 2-vehicle accident, with one vehicle requiring minor extrication. One person was transported to the local emergency room for treatment.

 

MVA on Burlington Pike

6/7/2011 – At 13:22 Engine 701 and Squad 714 were dispatched to the intersection of Burlington Pike and Veterans Way for a reported vehicle accident with injuries. Car 726 arrived first and confirmed a 2-vehicle accident, requesting an additional squad based on initial information. One person was transported with minor injuries.

 

Building Fire on Burlington Pike

6/1/2011 – At 16:44 units were alerted for a possible building fire in the 4500 block of Burlington Pike, the caller was reporting the rear deck on fire, extending into the residence. Engine 701 arrived on scene and reported heavy smoke and fire showing from the rear of the building, the fire was quickly knocked down and fire extension into the residence was stopped with moderate damage to a rear 1-story addition. Assistance was provided by Hebron and Belleview/McVille, with Petersburg also responding with a tanker, however they were cancelled enroute after the fire was knocked down.

 

MVA on Camp Ernst Road

5/30/2011 – At 12:52 Engine 701 and Squad 715 were dispatched to the area of Camp Ernst Road and Camp Ernst Lane for a reported rollover vehicle accident with injuries. On scene personnel confirmed a rollover, however they reported no injuries. Engine 701 remained on scene to assist with clean-up.

 

Building Fire on Camp Ernst Road

5/24/2011 – At 19:52 the duty crew was alerted to smoke in the air beyond the firehouse off Burlington Pike, as they mounting the apparatus to go investigate the smoke PSCC dispatched them as well to the area of Camp Ernst Road and Bluegrama Drive for smoke in the area. Shortly after responding 701 was further advised that this was a possible building fire on the grounds of the YMCA camp on Camp Ernst Road . On scene units found an approximately 5,800 square foot cabin building 50% involved in fire. The fire was held to the building of origin, as water had to be trucked into the site, because no public hydrants are available on the property.

5/21/2011 – At 22:20 Engine 701 and Squad 714 responded to the area of East Bend Road and Possum Path for a reported vehicle accident with injuries, on scene crews found no injuries.

 

MVA on Burlington Pike

5/21/2011 – At 21:45 Engine 701 and Squad 714 were dispatched to a reported vehicle accident at the intersection of Burlington Pike and Camp Ernst Road , based on available information Squad 715 also responded. On scene 2 additional squads were requested from Hebron and Florence.

 

Explorers Competition

5/13/2011 – Prior to the start of the annual Northern Kentucky Fire School held in Hebron this year the explorer’s competition was held at the station on Friday evening. Eight teams entered the competition and our very own Burlington team did well at there first competition. The event was attended by many people, so hopefully everyone had a great time.

 

Lightning Strike on Woodcrest Drive

5/8/2011 – At 07:41 Engine 701 and Ladder 710 were dispatched to the 6200 block of Woodcrest Drive for a reported gas leak inside the residence, they also were reporting that the building had been strike by lightning approximately 8 hours before the call was dispatched. On scene crews assisted with debris removal, patching holes in the roof and checking the home for fire damage.

Building Fire on Vantage Court in Florence

5/6/2011 – At 16:04 Engine 701 was dispatched along with units from Florence Fire/ EMS to a reported building fire in the 6800 block of Vantage Court, the caller was reporting a bedroom fire. 701 arrived first and reported nothing showing, however upon further investigation a medium smoke condition was found inside the house. The fire was quickly extinguished and 701 further assisted Florence on scene.

Flood Deployment to Western Kentucky

5/3/2011 – A request was made from the Kentucky Fire Commission to see if anyone had interested Firefighter/ EMT ’s that were available to deploy to Western Kentucky for approximately 7 days, this request was quickly filled by Firefighter/ EMT Ian Schulte and Firefighter/ EMT Scott Hegener from the Burlington FPD. Both individuals ended up in the flooded river town of Smithland, KY, while on deployment they assisted with door-to-door searches and staffing at the fire station during the evening. As you can see in the photos, the fire station was just on the other side of the levee, so that lead to many sleepless nights in the station. Both Scott and Ian returned to Burlington on 5/6, having met many great people and providing a much needed service. Thanks to you both for your assistance.

Building Fire on Harvesthome Drive

4/22/2011 – At 17:35 units were dispatched for a possible building fire in the 7500 block of Harvesthome Drive , the occupant was reporting that the house had been struck by lightning and that smoke and fire was now coming from the roof. Upon arrival units confirmed a working fire with grey smoke coming from the roof of the home. The fire was quickly located and knocked down with moderate damage to a bedroom and attic area of the home. Union Engine 651 responded and assisted with this incident.

 

MVA on Camp Ernst Road

4/21/2011 – At 08:32 Engine 701 and Squad 714 responded to a reported motor vehicle accident with injuries in the 6000 block of Camp Ernst Road . Upon arrival they however found no injuries, just a individual needing assistance to get out of the vehicle.

 

Building Fire on Collier Lane

4/19/2011 – At 16:49 units were alerted to a possible building fire from a curling iron in the 2900 block of Collier Lane , the resident was reporting heavy smoke inside their home with what appeared to be heavy damage to the master bathroom from a fire. On scene personnel confirmed the fire was out and that the fire resulted from a lightning strike approximately 4 hours before the resident arrived home. Personnel overhauled the area, while Hebron Engine 351 checked the roof area of the building.

 

Building Fire on Lumberjack Drive in Hebron

4/19/2011 – At 12:03 Engine 701 was responding with Hebron and Point Pleasant Fire units to a reported lightning strike on Rivermead Drive in Hebron when Squad 364 reported they had a working fire, smoke from the roof of a single family dwelling in the 2100 block of Lumberjack Drive . 701 diverted to this incident and assisted with fire extinguishment and overhaul.

 

Building Fire on Locust Grove Road

4/16/2011 – At 11:07 units were alerted for a reported building fire in the 8700 block of Locust Grove Road , along with a subject having a possible heart attack. On arrival units found a single story 40 by 45 detached garage well involved in fire. Car 725 (Barlow) established Locust Grove Command, Engine 701 laid 600 feet of supply line midway down the driveway and Hebron Engine 351 completed the lay from the hydrant with an additional 600 feet of supply line. All of the occupants were checked and no one was transported to the hospital. Belleview/McVille also assisted with this incident.

3/30/2011 – At 13:02 Engine 701 and Squad 714 were dispatched to the area of Burlington Pike and Limaburg Creek Road for a reported MVA with injuries. On arrival personnel found no injuries and returned to service.

3/12/2011 – At 23:28 Engine 701 and Squad 714 responded to the 4200 block of Burlington Pike for a reported single vehicle accident with injuries. On scene personnel found a vehicle into a pole with no injuries, Cincinnati Bell was contacted about the broken pole.

3/10/2011 – At 18:48 Engine 701, 702 and Squad 714 were dispatched to the area of Burlington Pike and McGrath Lane for a reported vehicle accident with extrication. On scene personnel confirmed a t-bone accident with 2 injuries. Hebron Squad 364 also assisted with this incident.

 

Brush Fire on Easton Lane

2/18/2011 – At 15:15 Engine 702 and Petersburg Brush Truck 1208 were dispatched to the 4100 block of Easton Lane for a reported brush fire. Upon arrival crews found an area approximately 20 acres in size burning. Crews from Hebron , Walton and Verona assisted with this fire, as 2 other fires were burning throughout the county in Union and Walton.

 

Brush Fire on Ryle Road in Union

2/18/2011 – At 15:11 Engine 701 and Brush Truck 717 were dispatched to assist Union with a large brush fire in the 12000 block of Ryle Road . Personnel assisted Union and Belleview/McVille crews with this fire that burned approximately 100 acres. Fires in Burlington and Walton were also going on during this fire.

MVA on Burgundy Hill Drive

1/25/2011 – At 07:31 Engine 701 and Squad 714 were dispatched to the area of the 1800 block of Burgundy Hill Drive for a reported MVA with injuries. On scene personnel found a 2-vehicle head-on accident with minor injuries.

 

Building Fire on Allens Fork Drive

1/24/2011 – At 19:57 units were alerted to smoke in the residence in the 3000 block of Allens Fork Drive . The caller was reporting that when she arrived home, she smelled smoke and when she opened the door she saw smoke. Once on scene personnel found a small fire on the lower level of the home that did considerable smoke damage throughout. No injuries were reported and one cat was rescued from the home by fire personnel. Hebron and Florence also responded on this call.

 

Unknown Fire on Patrick Drive

1/15/2011 – At 02:20 units were alerted to a possible building fire at the Kroger on Patrick Drive . A BCSO unit was reporting an unknown type fire in the front of the building. On scene it was discovered that a trash can had caught fire and was fully involved, an employee of Kroger used a fire extinguisher to knockdown the fire prior to arrival of the engine. The overhang and liquor store were checked for extension with none being found. On a side note the entire incident was caught on camera!

 

MVA on Burlington Pike

1/5/2011 – At 18:33 Engine 701 and Squad 714 responded to the intersection of Burlington Pike and Taylor Drive for a reported vehicle accident with injuries. Once on scene it was discovered that no one was injured and 701 assisted with fluid clean-up.

 

Haz-Mat on Petersburg Road in Hebron

1/4/2011 – At 02:44 Engine 701 responded along with numerous other units for a fuel tanker that had overturned at the intersection of Petersburg Road and Victory Place . 701 provided manpower and stood-by as requested.

 

MVA w/Extrication on Burlington Pike

1/1/2011 – At 11:22 Engine 701 and Squad 714 were dispatched to the intersection of Burlington Pike and Camp Ernst Road for a reported vehicle accident with injuries. Once on scene 701 reported they were going to be doing extrication on one vehicle.

 

MVA on Camp Ernst Road

12/27/2010 – At 16:35 Engine 701 and Squad 714 responded to the 6000 block of Camp Ernst Road for a reported vehicle accident with injuries. On scene a second squad was requested to 2 injuries.

 

Building Fire on Southpointe Drive

12/21/2010 – At 23:54 Engine 701 and Ladder 710 were dispatched to a fire alarm activation in the 6000 block of Southpointe Drive . After calling enroute 701 was further advised that the upstairs bedroom was on fire, the call was upgraded to a building fire. On scene personnel found a smoke condition in the upstairs of the townhouse, they were advised that a citizen had thrown water on a fan that was burning.

 

Extrication on Production Drive

12/20/2010 – At 05:21 Engine 701 and Squad 714 responded to the 1400 block of Production Drive for a reported person trapped under a vehicle after it fell from a jack. On scene personnel confirmed an entrapment and used airbags to lift the vehicle and remove the person.

 

MVA on Washington Street

12/10/2010 – At 13:38 Engine 701 and Squad 714 were dispatched to the area of Washington Street at Rogers Lane for a reported vehicle accident with injuries. Units arrival and found no injuries.

 

Building Fire on Indian Ridge Way

11/29/2010 – At 18:43 units were alerted to a building fire in the 7400 block of Indian Ridge Way for a reported fire in the kitchen area of the home. On scene personnel found a single family, single story dwelling with smoke showing, upon investigation it was found that the fire was out and the home was ventilated.

Building Fire on Poplar Ridge Court

11/27/2010 – At 20:08 units were alerted to a building fire in the 1600 block of Poplar Ridge Court , the caller was reporting an electrical fire in a single family dwelling. On scene 701 found light smoke showing from a 2-story single family dwelling, the smoke was coming from the roof of the garage area. Upon investigation personnel found a smoldering fire in the fuse box.

 

Building Fire on Bordeaux Blvd

11/27/2010 – At 16:08 Engine 701 and Ladder 710 responded to the 1800 block of Bordeaux Blvd for a reported fire alarm. Arriving on scene Engine 701 reported nothing showing from a 3-story occupied multi-family dwelling, PSCC further advised 701 that a BCSO officer was reporting smoke in the building. 701 had dispatch upgrade the incident to a building fire response. After investigating personnel found a kitchen fire in a ground floor unit, being controlled by the sprinkler system. Damage was limited to a single apartment.

11/23/2010 – At 06:45 Engine 701 and Squad 714 responded to Burlington Pike and Old Florence Pike for a reported vehicle accident with injuries. On scene personnel found no injuries and assisted with debris removal.

 

MVA on Washington Street

11/20/2010 – At 02:57 Engine 701 and Squad 714 responded to Washington Street and Jefferson Street for reported vehicle accident with injuries. On scene personnel found no injuries, they assisted with clean-up.

 

MVA on East Bend Road

11/9/2010 – At 14:49 Engine 701, 702 and Squad 714 responded to the 6500 block of East Bend Road for a reported vehicle accident with injuries and entrapment. Car 728 on scene cancelled 702 as there was no entrapment, 701 assisted with patient care.

11/8/2010 – At 14:13 Engine 701 and Squad 714 responded to the 5900 block of Limaburg Road for a reported vehicle accident with injuries. On scene they found a 2 vehicle accident with no injuries.

11/7/2010 – At 06:31 Engine 701 and Squad 714 responded to the intersection of Limaburg Road and Distribution Drive for a reported vehicle accident with injuries, car on its top. On scene personnel confirmed a vehicle on its top with 1 person injured.

 

Building Fire on Waterloo Road in Belleview/McVille

11/6/2010 – At 10:29 Engine 701 and Tanker 721 responded to the 5100 block of Waterloo Road within the Belleview/McVille FPD to assist them with a reported building fire. On scene personnel assisted with fire attack and overhaul of a detached garage type building that was fully involved upon arrival.

Building Fire on Peoples Lane

11/2/2010 – At 22:53 units were alerted for reported building fire in the 5900 block of Peoples Lane . On scene 701 reported smoke showing from a 3-story multi-family dwelling, the fire was located on the third floor of the building and extinguished without incident.

 

Brush Fire on Richardson Road in Kenton County

11/1/2010 – At 22:44 Utility 740 and Gator 1 responded to a brush fire on Richardson Road in Kenton County . The gator was used to transport personnel around the fire area, the fire reportedly burned approximately 40 acres. Numerous fire departments assisted.

Extrication Accident on East Bend Road

11/1/2010 – At 19:25 Engine 701 and Squad 714 responded to East Bend Road and George Drive for a reported vehicle accident with injuries. On scene personnel confirmed the accident with entrapment.

 

Brush Fire on Big Bone Church Road in Union

10/30/2010 - At 16:10 Brush Truck 717 responded to Big Bone Church Road to assist Union with a large 50+ acre brush fire. Engine 701 was dispatched shortly afterward for manpower.

MVA on Pleasant Valley Road

10/30/2010 – At 10:27 Engine 701 and Squad 714 responded to the area of Pleasant Valley Road and Oakbrook Drive for a reported vehicle rollover with injuries. On scene personnel confirmed a rollover with no injuries.

 

Brush Fire on Rogers Lane

10/21/2010 – At 20:46 units responded to the 6600 block of Rogers Lane for a reported brush fire. On scene personnel found an approximate 1 acre fire area within a heavily wooded area. Brush Truck 668 from Union also assisted with this incident.

Extrication Accident on Rogers Lane

10/14/2010 – At 16:20 Engine 701, 702 and Squad 714 were dispatched to the area of Rogers Lane and Rosetta Drive for a reported vehicle accident with entrapment. On scene 701 confirmed entrapment, however they called for AirCare and had 702 set-up an LZ at the station.

MVA on Burlington Pike

10/10/2010 – At 08:50 Engine 701 and Squad 714 responded to the area of Burlington Pike and Shady Hollow Lane for a reported vehicle accident with injuries. On scene personnel found one person injured.

 

Brush Fire on Klein Road in Kenton County

9/23/2010 – At 14:56 Brush Truck 717 responded to the 12000 block of Klein Road for a reported 50+ acre brush fire. Klein Road is located in southern Kenton County approximately 20 miles from Burlington . Utility 740 responded with additional personnel at approximately 1830. The units operated on scene until about 0230 in the morning on 9/24/2010 . Several fire departments from Boone, Kenton and Campbell, Pendleton and Grant counties assisted with the extinguishment of this fire.

Vehicle Fire on East Bend Road

9/18/2010 – At 18:34 Engine 701 was dispatched to the 6800 block of East Bend Road for a reported vehicle fire. On scene 701 found a working fire in the passenger compartment of a pick-up truck.

 

MVA on Jefferson Street

9/14/2010 – At 03:05 Engine 701 and Squad 714 responded to the 5900 Jefferson Street for a reported vehicle accident rollover with possible injuries. No one was transported to the hospital and 701 provided general clean-up from the wreck.

 

Extrication Accident on Burlington Pike

9/13/2010 – At 17:56 Engine 701 and Squad 714 were dispatched to the intersection of Burlington Pike and North Bend Road for a reported vehicle accident with injuries, on scene 701 advised there would be extrication and Engine 702 and Squad 715 responded as well.

 

Extrication Accident on Burlington Pike

9/12/2010 – At 21:38 Engine 701, Belleview/McVille 1151 and Squad 714 were dispatched to the 4700 block of Burlington Pike for a reported vehicle with possible entrapment. On scene Car 726 confirmed entrapment of a single person, 701 arrived and removed the roof of the vehicle to gain access to the patient.

 

MVA on Burlington Pike

9/10/2010 – At 16:11 Engine 701 and Squad 714 were dispatched to the intersection of Burlington Pike and Taylor Drive for a reported vehicle accident with injuries, one person was transported to an area hospital.

 

Bomb Investigation on Boone Aire Road

9/10/2010 – At 15:31 Engine 701 and Squad 714 were dispatched to the 1300 block of Boone Aire Road to stand-by for a confirmed bomb investigation, BCEMA and BCSO personnel were already on scene. Car 726 responded along with the units and established Command upon arrival, once the Cincinnati Bomb Squad arrived on scene they determined that the device was safe and units could return to service.

 

Structure Fire on Petersburg Road in Hebron

9/1/2010 – At 09:27 Tanker 721 was dispatched to assist Hebron with a working structure fire in the 600 block of Petersburg Road by the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport. 721 provided water for the firefight as the structure was located in a remote long term parking lot far from an available hydrant. Engine 701 responded to Hebron Station 1 to provide coverage during this incident.

 

Extrication Accident on Camp Ernst Road

8/21/2010 – At 22:40 Engine 702, Union Engine 651 and Squad 715 were dispatched to the 8200 block of Camp Ernst Road for a reported vehicle rollover with entrapment. Union Car 682 arrived first, confirmed entrapment and established Command. Several people were injured and 1 was taken by aeromedical helicopter from the scene. Burlington was also working an active “barricaded subject” call on Featherstone Drive during this incident.

 

MVA on Botts Lane

8/10/2010 – At 01:38 Engine 701 and Squad 714 were dispatched to the 4900 block of Botts Lane for a reported injury accident, the engine crew assisted the squad crew with patient care, with no further action taken.

 

Building Fire on Perry Lane

8/1/2010 - At 09:34 units were alerted to a possible building fire in the 1700 block of Perry Lane, it was reported that a vacant house was on fire with smoke showing from a detacted garage. Engine 701 arrived on scene and found a two-story single family dwelling with smoke showing from a detacted garage, approximately 6 feet from the main house. The fire was quickly located and extinguished without further incident. The Boone County SO is investigating this fire.

 

MVA on River Road in Hebron

7/27/2010 – At 17:58 Squad 714 responded at the request of Command for a serious single vehicle accident in the 5600 block of River Road . On scene 714 assisted with patient treatment and transported one person.

Lawnmower Fire on East Bend Road

7/16/2010 – At 13:29 Engine 701 was dispatched to the 6500 block of East Bend Road for a reported lawnmower on fire in the front yard. On scene 701 found a fully involved lawnmower, quickly extending to some nearby trees.

Building Fire on Ryle Road in Union

7/15/2010 – At 13:18 as the temperature was around 98 degrees an engine from Burlington and Squad 714 were requested to respond to a building fire in the 12000 block of Ryle Road in Union . Engine 703 responded with 3 personnel so that additional personnel would be available for calls within the District as all Boone County Fire Departments were requested to the fire except for Petersburg , Point Pleasant and the airport. Engine 703 and Squad 714 assisted on scene for about 3 hours before being released by the Incident Commander.

Extrication MVA on Burlington Pike

7/9/2010 – At 19:36 Engine 701 and Squad 714 responded to the area of Burlington Pike and Veterans Way for a reporting injury accident. On scene units found a several vehicle accident with one person trapped inside their vehicle. Squad 715 and Hebron Squad 364 responded to this accident as well.
